Strikers Soccer School hits Sandpoint next week
SANDPOINT — There is still time to sign up for the 2017 Strikers Soccer School, a week-long skills camp run as always by new Sandpoint boys soccer coach Evan McNeley and a host of other great coaches.
The camp starts on Monday, June 19 at Farmin-Stidwell Elementary. You can sign up online at www.SandpointSoccer.com, or stop by Sandpoint Sports in Ponderay, or show up early before the start of your session on Monday.
McNeley, who played last year for Tacoma Stars of the Major Indoor Soccer League, was one of the original guest coaches when Brian Farber first started the camp more than a decade ago. He will be joined this year by Mikel Palmerin, a former player for the San Diego Sockers and Ontario Fury who now plays on the U.S. Beach Soccer National Team, and Alexander Megson, a member of the U.S. National Futsal Team and current player with the Kansas City Comets.
Rick Mullins, the Strikers Director of Coaching, will be overseeing camp and will be available for questions during camp. Current high school Strikers players will be also be assisting with camp.
The camp is an awesome way to have fun, learn some soccer skills, connect with the coaches, and make new friendships with the players you’ll be on the field with this fall. Don’t miss this, it’ll be the best week of your summer.
The following sessions are available, and remember to use the player’s fall age when registering for camp.
n Rec League U6-U12 camp is Tuesday and Thursday, from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $80, and each camper will receive a T-shirt and soccer ball.
n Premier I U8-U11 camp is Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $130 and includes a camp T-Shirt and ball.
n Premier II U12-U14 camp is Monday through Friday, from 2-4 p.m. each day. The cost is $130 and includes shirt and ball.
n High School U15-U18 camp is Tuesday and Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. each night. The cost is $20.Rec League players are welcome to attend Rec League Camp, or one of the Premier Camps, which is slightly more intense, and two extra days!
