Donald E. “Don” Becker, 82

Donald E. “Don” Becker, 82, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Joe Gibbs, family friend, will be officiating.

Don was born on March 14, 1935, in Aberdeen, Idaho, the son of John and Effie Becker. The family moved to Dover in 1944 and Don attended local schools. He worked, as a carpenter, in the Reno, Nevada, area for several years. He returned to Dover, becoming a carpenter for the Pack River Lumber Company. He would retire, as a millwright, from the Pack River Dover sawmill, in 1984.

On June 3, 1967 he married Margaret (Maggie) McDonnell in Sandpoint. Maggie would pass away on May 12, 2015, following 47 years of marriage.

Don enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. His hobby was building tables, or anything else, out of wood.

He is survived by three children, Marci Gillmer of Dover, Donald (Connie) Becker of Brewster, Washington, and Annette (David) Oiler of Danville, California Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Gloria Cozort in Dover.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Shannon Kingsley; other relatives and many friends.
