Just how many people are employed at the Lake Pend Oreille School District?

In their FY2015 Budget Report, it states “We have approximately 500 full-time employees.”

Reported on the Idaho Department of Education Staffing Summary as of 12/30/2016, the Distinct Total employees, or “headcount” was 516, with a Provider Total of 563. This doesn’t count the “short-term employees, such as substitutes,” according to the DOE.

615 people received a paycheck on the January 2017 payroll.

On Feb.14, 2017, the CFO reported that 469 employees participate in the single partner health insurance. LPOSD states that there are seven full-time staff members that don’t participate plus 60 part-time employees (less than 20 hours per week.) This totals 536, plus short-term substitutes.

Another list shows 861 W-2s for LPOSD. But this includes past employees who have since resigned or retired, about 97 in 2016. It also may include numerous people who are on a leave of absence.

Now comes the revised supplemental levy flyer and presentation claiming the district has 900 employees. This number seems fabricated and serving the purpose of being emotional propaganda. The true number is obviously in the 600 range.

LPOSD states “There is not a specific staff list that is designated to be cut if the levy fails that list will be generated moving though the reduction in force procedures.” Yet there is a specific list of staff that is being paid from the levy account.

Is this part of Common Core math?
