The levy election on March 14 supports learning in LPOSD in many ways. The Bee has run many stories of successful students, both current and past graduates, as well as narratives about the vast opportunities provided by the district.
Enthusiastic learners at all levels are taught by dedicated staff with the focus of success for all. Administrators set the goals for the district to maintain high achievement and to meet the needs and expectations of parents and community. Experiential learning programs have been implemented to provide a diverse classroom opportunity; the home school academy was added to supplement what families have been doing; music, art, PE and technology are taught at all levels to give students a well-rounded education; college and career readiness starts at the primary level; and the electives at the middle school and high schools give students experiences in many of fields of interest.
My own three children attended and graduated from LPOSD. They took advantage of the extracurricular opportunities, which they have drawn upon in their successful adult careers — as a teacher, a firefighter, and an engineer. They, too, benefited from the dedicated staff and coaches who taught them teamwork, organization, leadership and that hard work pays off. Fundraising for travel with teams and classes was a positive part of that educational experience.
The levy election on March 14 is vital to the success of each student. Please vote yes.
