It has been many years since I started my education at the Grouse Creek School during World War II. The biggest concern I had back then was if I could get back on my horse if I fell off on the way home.
Though it was different times, back then the community came together to support the school and value the education of the community’s youth. Fast forward 75 years and I am choosing to support my great-grandchildren’s education. I choose to trust the school board we elected, trust Superintendent Shawn Woodward, and the staff teaching today’s children.
Yes, I live on a fixed income, live in the house I built myself in 1963, and have no problem challenging the assessor’s office on the value of my house, but I will continue the investment into education for the youth in our community. When I look at my tax bill I don’t pay much more to provide education for almost 3,700 students than to have my garbage processed.
Vote yes on March 14.
