Rec League and Kick Start soccer leagues forming

SANDPOINT — Registration is now underway for the spring season of Sandpoint Soccer Association Rec League and Kick Start Soccer.

Rec League Soccer is for ages 4 years-old through the 12th grade. You can pick up a registration form at Sandpoint Sports (by Taco Bell), the Library, or by visiting www.sandpointsoccer.com. The early registration deadline is March 15, so please get your form in soon to avoid late fees.

Practices start the week of April 10 and games start April 22. Practices are held at local grade schools (Farmin, Washington, Sagle, Kootenai and Northside) and all games are at Farmin-Stidwell Field on Saturdays.

The Kick Start Soccer program is a fun weekly skills session for children ages 2–4 years-old, who are too young for Rec League Soccer. Coached this spring by Joel Aispuro, of Joel’s Restaurant, this program will meet on Thursdays, from April 27-June 1, from 4-5 p.m. each day at the Forrest Bird Charter School.

Your child receives a Kick Start Soccer T-shirt with their name on the back, and some great beginner soccer training. They’ll have a blast at Kick Start Soccer each week, and organizers expect nearly 100 children to take part in this program.
