My family and I moved to Sandpoint in August of last year, and we attended our first SHS sporting event shortly thereafter. I remember that night so clearly because it was unlike any other high school sporting event I had been to.
It was a warm Friday night, the stadium lights were on, and the smell of barbecue drifted in the air. As we entered, we saw a sea of red in the stands, and families were playing with their children on the baseball field.
As SHS rushed onto the field, the crowd went wild. It was clear that everyone was proud to be part of the Bulldog family. That night I didn’t just see a football game; rather, I saw a community — a community that came together to support and encourage students.
I’m asking that very same community to come together again, just like I saw that night, and support our kids by voting yes for the supplemental levy. I believe the kids need our support. This is about them … their needs, their opportunities, and their future. It’s about doing all we can to ensure they are successful in all aspects of their lives. This upcoming levy supports everything that makes LPOSD a place where kids want to go to school and will continue to provide students with opportunities to truly make the most of themselves.
They are the ones that need the levy. Please put them first — vote yes.
