For 17 consecutive years, the Sandpoint community has generously helped fund the extracurricular activities at Sandpoint High School, for which we are very thankful. This levy has presented innumerable opportunities for students. The supplemental levy funds 100 percent of the extracurricular activities. In the fall, your support goes to cross-country, football, soccer, and volleyball. In the winter, it goes to basketball and wrestling. In the spring, it goes to track, softball, baseball, tennis, golf, and lacrosse. Year round, your support goes to the band, cheerleaders, and dance team.

Whether it’s scoring the most points, creating a harmony, catching a flyer, or mastering a dance sequence, each of these activities is backed by you, the community. Without these activities, there would be no commonalities or support within the community, or even the school itself. These groups unite under the Sandpoint emblem, and fuse students together in ways that a classroom never could. These activities are where students are able to channel their energy into something positive, and develop relationships with peers, coaches, teachers, directors, and administration.

Even those who do not directly participate in the activity itself are affected. The band plays, and the crowd sings along. The cheerleaders chant, and the crowd replies. The team scores, and the crowd cheers. It’s about being a part of something outside of a day-to-day routine. It’s about involvement outside of the classroom, where we are proud to represent the Sandpoint community with our talents and passions, but we couldn’t do it without your support.
