As the vote nears, you may be wondering how you should vote on the upcoming Lake Pend Oreille instructional levy to replace the current expiring levy. There are numerous reasons why your “yes” vote is important for the vitality of our community, here are just a few:

If we wish for our community to be one of success and opportunity, we must preserve and enhance the educational experiences of future generations. We must act to ensure that we resist the ease of mediocrity and stagnation.

As our students prepare to graduate from our schools and look to be engaged in a global community, we must be equipped with the resources and talent to serve them well and set them up for success.

This levy is not only important for our current youth, but also for their future children and grandchildren as well. Our collective action to vote yes for this levy makes a statement that they are important, their education is paramount and their future is all our future.

As an individual and as a resident of Bonner County, I am going to vote yes and I urge all of you who have the same right to get out and vote yes as well. Do what’s right for our community, our students, future students and ourselves.

Just do what’s right, vote yes.
