If you’re only looking at economics, it makes more sense to vote for the levy than against it. The money we spend on our children’s education comes back to us in our communities more than any other dollars we spend.
Employment of community members, support for local business, the money flows back to the community in so many ways.
In our rural area the schools and our students are the hub of our world, not because we close them off to the world but because we open the world up to them. We cannot keep ideas from students but we can educate them to accept or reject ideas based on knowledge not ignorance.
In the public school environment students learn to interact with people they do not necessarily agree with, but they can see them as a person not just an idea. Very educational especially now in these divisive times. Learn to understand why people feel differently, you cannot learn new ideas in a closed environment. Public education well worth the cost.
