I grew up in this district, and currently have kids enrolled here. I suppose that makes me biased. It also gives me a ringside seat to see just how qualified, capable, committed, and compassionate the staff in our schools and in our district are.

I want the best for my kids, our community’s kids, and for our community. LPOSD delivers. Good schools draw good people to an area, and our district is one of the best in the state.

In addition to academic excellence, students here frequently qualify for and compete at state, regional, and national levels in all sorts of arenas. Artistic, athletic, and academic electives and extracurricular activities are challenging our kids and they are rising to the challenge. These activities stimulate their interest and involvement in school, and shape the lens through which they learn about life and the world around them.

These academic, artistic, and athletic activities enrich the lives of our young people, and energize small town they live in. They are part of what is up for our approval on Tuesday, March 14. This supplemental levy replaces one that covers roughly one third of the regular operating budget — people and programs that make our schools top notch.

Observing the hours and dedication these people give, I think the teachers, staff, and students of LPOSD deserve — and have earned — our full support, every vote of confidence, and all the gratitude we can muster!
