Ileene June (Plaster) Smith, 77,
Ileene June (Plaster) Smith, 77, passed away in her home on Sunday, March 5, 2017, with her husband and children by her side. She bravely fought cancer for over two years.
Ileene was born July 6, 1939 in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of Pete and Dorothy Hagerman. She moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1956, from Yakima and married Leonard Plaster in August 1957; they had six children. She later married Clyde Smith in December 1996, and added four more daughters to her family.
Ileene owned a wedding shop and was a master seamstress. She enjoyed so many different things in her life. Baking was one of her favorite things and her apple pie will be dearly missed. She loved fishing, bowling, gardening and traveling. She was self-employed and ran a small auto sales business with her husband Clyde. Ileene loved animals almost as much as children, including dogs, cats, chickens, goats, geese, llamas and horses.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Smith; sister, Donna Balch; brother, John Archi-bald; children, Debra (Randy) Williams, Donna (Dave) Plaster, Diana Shaw, Mark (Cynthia) Plaster, Kristina Fredrick, Eric Plaster, Patricia (Pat) Armour, Kimberley (T) Romo, Merry (Wally) Inman, and Stephanie (Ray) Ochoa; 28 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She cherished her life as a mother and grandmother.
Ileene was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Fisher; and two grandchildren, Travis Eugene Carter and Amy Ileene Plaster.
Ilene (Mom) will be dearly missed by her family and loved ones. She was kind-hearted, full of life and loved everyone she met.
The celebration of Ileene’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. The reception, for Ileene, will follow at 5 p.m. in the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge.
