Daniel Ike McEvers, 71

Daniel Ike McEvers, 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Services will be held at a later date.

Danny was born on Sept. 13, 1945 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Jess and Nora McEvers. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service and Union Pacific Railroad before serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Linda Simet in 1970 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and they had a son, Jesse. They later divorced.

Danny later married Carol Rogerman in 1980 in Coeur d’Alene. He continued to work for the Forest Service fighting fires, planting trees and building trails. Danny retired from the Forest Service in 2005. During his career he worked out of Bonners Ferry, Falls Creek, Clark Fork, and Sandpoint ranger districts.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and dancing at the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Carol McEvers of Sandpoint; son, Jesse (Jessica) McEvers of Spirit Lake; two grandchildren, Cody (May) McEvers and Megan McEvers; and one great-grandson, Rouri McEvers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and sister Anna.
