Patricia Darlene Reed, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint.
Pat was born on September 15, 1933 in Billings, Mont., to Joseph and Frances Fry. While growing up she was active in and enjoyed acrobatics. After graduating from Laurel High School, she earned a master of arts degree from the University of Montana.
During her teaching career she taught high school at reservation schools in Hardin and Joliet, she also taught in Lodge Grass and Ashland.
Pat married Dusty Duster-hauf; they had two girls, and later divorced. Pat then married James Condon and they later divorced.
In 1976, she moved to Arizona to care for her ailing father. Not able to find a teaching position she attended Arizona State University and received certification as a computer programmer.
Pat married Monty Reed on March 17, 1990, in Fountain Hills, Ariz. She worked at Motorola Semi-Conductor and later retired from American Express in 1998. She and Monty enjoyed four years of full time RVing.
They settled in the Sandpoint area in 2001. Pat was an avid reader and loved her A.A. family, where she celebrated 32 years of sobriety. Pat and Monty had a handmade jewelry business and a booth at the farmer’s market.
She is survived by her husband, Monty Reed of Sandpoint; two daughters, Joleen and Debra; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her little dogs, Huckleberry and Becky.
