Norling, Morgan lead Sharks at Shamrock Shakeup meet

SPOKANE — Caleb Norling won high point for the 11-12 year-old boys after winning the 50, 100, 200 and 500 free and finishing second in the 100 back and 50 breast to lead the Sandpoint Sharks at the Shamrock Shakeup recently at Whitworth University.

Autumn Morgan won the 200 breast and was second in the 50 and 100 breast, Kate Bokowy won the 50 and 100 free and was second in the 50 and 200 back to lead the girls, and Ava Deleeuw won the 500 free and was fifth in the 200 free to lead the girls.

Jack and Zack Grzincic, Triston Tomco and Caleb Norling teamed up to finish second in the 200 free relay, while Jack was also second in the 50 back and third in the 100 fly and 100 free, and Zack was second in both the 50 and 100 fly. Hayden Norling also had a strong meet by placing second in both the 50 and 500 free for the boys.

Other top 10 finishes turned in by the Sharks included: Garrett Bamer, second in 50 fly and 100 back; Ryleigh Bamer, second in 500 free, third in 50 fly; Emma Schmidt seventh in the 500 free; Cassidy Aitken ninth in the 100 breast; Konner Pierce 10th in the 50 free; Chandler Sanborn 10th in the 50 back and Luke Foust 10th in the 50 free.

Some of the Sharks are competing at the Western Championships in Federal Way Washington this weekend.
