SANDPOINT POLICE

March 16

An officer advised a vehicle was experiencing mechanical issues in the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue at 5:39 a.m. but was not on fire.

After a hit-and-run accident was reported at 9:57 a.m., an officer contacted the driver and advised he was unaware he had struck another vehicle in the 200 block of N. Fourth Avenue. There was no damage to either vehicle.

An officer was unable to locate the source of a 911 hang-up call in the N. Division Avenue area at 12:24 p.m.

An officer replaced a stop sign, which had been knocked over, in the area of Fifth and Church at 12:54 p.m.

Zachary C. Carlson, 26, of Hope, was arrested in the 600 block of Larch Street at 2:13 p.m. on a charge of providing false information to an officer and two counts of misuse of 911. He also was cited on a charge of petit theft.

A no-contact order violation was reported in the 1500 block of Pine Street at 12:31 p.m.

Report of a 911 hang-up on S. First Avenue at 2:23 p.m.

A citizen in the area of Fir Street and N. Boyer Avenue wanted to report at 3:32 p.m. a suspicious incident that occurred the prior night.

Two 13-year-old male juveniles were caught shoplifting in the 600 block of Larch Street at 3:40 p.m.

An officer was unable to locate two juveniles in a vehicle reported to be throwing “pop-its” at passing vehicles in the N. Third Avenue area at 3:57 p.m.

An open door was reported in the 100 block of S. First Avenue at 8:06 p.m.; officers cleared the building, finding no one inside.

An officer mediated in a child custody dispute in the 500 block of Pine Street at 6:12 p.m.

Officers contacted a male and female arguing in a vehicle in the middle of the roadway in the 1400 block of N. Division Avenue at 9:38 p.m. Clinton J. Young, 32, of Australia was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence (excessive), and Natalie J. Wilks, 32, of Australia was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.

Ongoing harassment was reported in the 300 block of Halley Street at 10:26 p.m.

Michael L. Robinson, 28, of Sandpoint, was arrested in the 300 block of N. First Avenue at 10:53 p.m. on a charge of felony driving under the influence.

An adult male was trespassed from a business in the 800 block of Fifth Avenue at 12:23 a.m.
