March 28, 1967 — CLARK FORK NEWS

A deep sense of shock and grief came to the people of this community on Easter as a result of an early hour crash of two local cars about two and one-quarter miles west of the village.

William Gibson, Jr. was the driver of one car, coming eastward toward Clark Fork. He was instantly killed when his car was demolished and went off highway 10-A. The driver of the other car, Charles Cutler, was injured and his car was demolished. He was driving westward with two passengers, Fred Wrotenberry and a young girl reported to be from the Sunnyside area.

“Bill” Gibson came to Clark Fork about two years ago. He assisted his parents in converting a primitive river-frontage area east of the village into a trailer court — The River Delta Resort — where bright bonfires and the family hospitality brought many visitors.

Billy was a popular and outstanding young man and his death brings sorrow to Clark Fork and sympathy for the parents and one sister, Mrs. Kent (Rosalyn) McCandless.
