| March 29, 2017 1:00 AM

The Region 1 Behavioral Health Board’s Children’s Mental Health Sub-Committee is pleased to present an upcoming showing of the film “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope” along with a panel discussion.

“Resilience” highlights the national movement to prevent childhood trauma, treat toxic stress and improve the health of future generations. Using the research from the ACE’S study, “Resilience” makes the science relevant to everyone and discusses what you can do to improve outcomes of individuals impacted by adverse experiences and toxic stress.

The panel discussion participants include Dr. George Deland and Adam Kusler from Kanisku Health Services, Dr. Coralyn Alexander from Kootenai Behavioral Health, Jill Hicks from NICMH, Dr. Joy Jansen with the Lake Pend Oreille School District, Sharon Knicely, LSW with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, as well as Jessica Nordheim with Boundary County Juvenile Probation.

This event is free and open to the public.

The showing will take place on Monday, April 11, at the Panida Theater. The film starts at 6 p.m. and the panel discussion will start at 7 p.m.
