Livingston, Dorado pick up wins as Bulldogs top 5A Coeur d'Alene

SANDPOINT — Allura Livingston didn’t drop a game in a straight set win at No. 1 girls singles, and Juan Dorado picked up his biggest win of the year at No. 1 boys singles, leading the Bulldog tennis team to an 8-3 win over 5A Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday at Travers Park.
“Allura played at the highest level of her varsity career. She was relentless, rarely missing a shot and chasing down balls all over the court,” described Bulldog head coach Kent Anderson. “Juan played the match of his life. It was truly a war. They were both crushing baseline bombs for the entire match but Juan’s consistency prevailed. His improvement in the last four months has been phenomenal.”
Finally able to play in favorable conditions, Anderson called it his team’s best tennis of the season. Laney Search and Khloe Kyllonen faced off in an anticipated rematch against the Vikings, winning 6-1, 6-1 and earning high praise from Anderson.
“I couldn’t have predicted such a lopsided result. Their discipline from the baseline and their quick hands at the net were unbeatable,” he said. “This was their best match ever.”
Patrick Rockwell and Jacob Jackson used a combination of power and incredible shot selection to easily dismantle their opponents 6-2 6-2.
Sandpoint is at Lakeland on Thursday, as the busy slate of late-season action continues.
