SANDPOINT — Mike Boeck is announcing his candidacy for the 1A seat in Idaho’s House of Representatives.

“I look forward to the opportunity to represent the people of District 1,” Boeck said in a statement. “Born and raised in Bonner County and having worked by entire life in the forest products industry in both Bonner and Boundary counties, I have come to know very well the issues that the district really cares about.”

Boeck is a resource manager at Tri-Pro Forest Products.

“I know that my experience and common sense approach to problem solving can bring a much-needed partner to our current District 1 state representative Position B, Sage Dixon, and our District 1 state Sen. Shawn Keough,” Boeck said.

Boeck is running on the Republican ticket and is expected to face incumbent 1A Rep. Heather Scott in the May 15, 2018, primary election.

“Many challenges face our district as we see more and more folks move to our beautiful area. School funding, transportation infrastructure, and protecting our wonderful water resources are all challenges that I work to enhance and protect,” Boeck said.

“I will go to Boise as a representative of all the people of District 1 and will work with our legislators so together we can make District 1 a place we can all be proud of.”
