As a parent with children in the Lake Pend Oreille School District for the last 12 years, it is important to support a candidate for trustee who demonstrates commitment and understanding of the needs of our children. Gary Suppiger exemplifies the characteristics needed in a trustee. He has volunteered for years in the school district, participated in math club, boys scouts and coaching. His own children as well as those who grow up beside them benefited from his activism.

Living in the southern end of Bonner County, the concern for keeping Southside School functioning is a high priority for our family. Gary Suppiger understands the financial burden on the district as well as the benefit of rural schools. He has pledged to support this school in the district. Small successful schools benefit the students and the community. It’s important to capitalize on the advantage of neighborhood schools especially this one which has received state and national recognition. In our experience, the class size and teacher interest has benefited our children.

Many complain about a lack of college readiness or vocational training in the school system but the educational opportunities are available if sought. From health occupations, dual credit, advanced placement, athletics and the outstanding music program, many students graduate ready to advance to the next level. The school district continues to need leadership willing to use assets wisely and Gary Suppiger has the background needed to do this.
