LPOSD school board candidate questions
On Tuesday, May 16, Lake Pend Oreille School District patrons will head to the polls to vote for three school board trustees. The polls are open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Below are the questions candidates were asked as part of the Bonner County Daily Bee’s candidate questionnaire.
1. What inspired you to run for the position of trustee?
2. Why do you believe you are the best candidate to represent the constituents in the zone for which you are running?
3. What strengths do you believe you will bring to the board?
4. What goals do you hope to achieve if you are elected?
5. Which do you feel is the most important of those goals and why?
6. Are you involved in school activities or programs? If so, which ones?
7. Describe the duties and responsibilities of a school board trustee? How much time can you devote to the position?
8. What challenges do you see facing students and teachers? How would you solve them?
9. What are your views on the education students in the district are currently receiving? Are they on track for postsecondary learning? What facts support your answer?
10. What’s the harshest criticism you expect to face on the campaign trail and how would you respond to such criticism?
11. If you could only get one thing across to voters during your campaign, what would it be?
