About 200 people attended the event and firefighters handed out 60 smoke detectors . Daylight Saving Time is always the time to change smoke alarm batteries. The day saw many happy families, kids, and older residents enjoying the event and learning valuable safety tips as well.

Firefighters reached a total of 1,000 residents throughout the month, highlighting planning ahead, working smoke alarms in the home/business and having a meeting place outside in case of a fire that everyone clearly knows ahead of time.
