Nov. 5, 1967 — PAY MEASURE LEGAL

Holding that legislators do not vanish and cease to exist upon adjournment, a Fourth District court judge in Boise ruled Monday that between-the-sessions expense money for Idaho legislators, $3.50 a day, is both legal and constitutional.

20 LB. KAMLOOPS CAUGHT

Mrs. Billie Morrow, of Kamloops Anchorage at Garfield Bay reports that large Kamloops have been registered in recent days. Largest was a 20 lb. Kamloops caught by Ralph Austin, Spokane, on an Andy Reiker with surface line, one-quarter mile off Mineral Point. George Weisshaar, Star Route, caught a 17½ lb. Kamloops on an Alaskan Golden plug and 500 ft. of monel line, halfway between Maiden Rock and Granite creek, and later a 15 lb. Kamloops off Deadman’s Point.

ELECTRICAL CLASS OFFERED

Bonner County District No. 82 announced plans for an adult course in electricity in Sandpoint. A course offered at North Idaho Junior College in Coeur d’Alene means two hours on the road and three hours in class two nights a week for 10 weeks of winter, so an effort was made to offer the same class in Sandpoint. The class must have eight students and General Telephone will provide four.

Pend d’Oreille Review

Nov. 5, 1917 — BORAH VISITS CITY

Senator William E. Borah arrived in the city this morning by train and was met at the N.P. depot by Dorlon Mihills and Math Schmidt, both of the Pend d’Oreille Drainage association, and is today inspecting by auto the area the drainage project will affect. He was taken to the Pack River valley this forenoon, took luncheon at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt, and this afternoon will visit down river points and the gorge at Albeni Falls.

STEREOPTICON FOR HIGH SCHOOL

It is the custom of the Sandpoint high school graduating classes to give the school a memorial at graduation. The class of 1917 did not decide on their gift until after the opening of the present school year, when it was decided to buy a first class stereopticon. The machine is very simply made and is so arranged that not only slides may be used but images of opaque objects such as pictures may be thrown on the screen. The exact colors of the picture appear on the screen.

MALONEY DISAPPEARANCE A MYSTERY

Mystery surrounds the disappearance of John Maloney, who has not been seen since the burning of his property, the Palace hotel.

He was missed about the time the building was razed and as soon as the ruins were sufficiently cooled to permit searching, a crew of men set to work and carefully worked over every foot of the site. Not a vestige of his body could be found.
