'Shrek the Musical' will see ya in the swamp
Growing Dreams Productions and Sandpoint High School Mime and Masque would like to announce the spring 2018 Youth Musical Theater performance of “Shrek The Musical” with six performances, April 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21, 2018!
Director Jeannie Hunter and her team have decided on this funny fantasy fairy tale featuring a big green ogre and a host of raucous rebellious characters. “Shrek The Musical” will take the stage April 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21. The family show will be a matinee on Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. The rest of the shows will be at 7 p.m. All shows will be performed at the Sandpoint High School Venishnick Auditorium.
Auditions will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Jan. 10-11, with callbacks on Jan. 12 at the SHS auditorium. Students are asked to arrive a few minutes early and plan to stay for the entire audition. Come prepared with a memorized one-minute monologue. Youth only need audition on one of the days to be considered. Auditions will include reading lines, dancing and singing. There are also parts for aspiring puppeteers available.
“Shrek, The Musical”, will be directed by Hunter, with musical direction by Jon Brownell, stage management by Skyra Schendell, choreography by Becky Lucas of Danceworks Studio with assistant Sarah Savage, costumes by Angie Aller, and the help of many dedicated parents and volunteers.
