Chamber welcomes Bodhi Brew Coffee
SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce brewed up a warm welcome for Bodhi Brew Coffee at an Oct. 27 ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Carrera Swarm purchased Perks Espresso in July 2017 and re-opened it as Bodhi Brew Coffee. Bodhi uses Evans Brothers Coffee, organic dairy, a wide variety of alternative organic milk options and locally sourced quality ingredients.
“My mission is to provide an honest, delicious cup of coffee filled with quality ingredients and a whole lot of love,” said Swarm.
Swarm grew up in Sandpoint and has worked in local restaurants since she was a child helping her grandmother with her ice cream shop on the Cedar Street Bridge and her restaurant at the Bonner Mall appropriately named “Carrera’s.” Years later, she met Mickey and Duffy Mahoney as they were opening up MickDuff’s Brewing Company and went to work for them, eventually became their general manager. Swarm said the MickDuff’s team is like family to her, but added “that gut feeling started to surface and I knew it was time for me to spread my wings and fly the coop.”
Bodhi Brew Coffee offers classic coffee drinks as well as unique specialty drinks such as the “Beeting Heart” with espresso, milk and Bodhi’s beet root and honey simple syrup and “Cardamom Rose” with espresso, milk, rose syrup and swirls of citrusy cardamom.
Bodhi Brew Coffee can be found at 624 N. Fifth Ave., or more accurately, on Fir Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues right next to Safeway. They have walk-up service on one side of the building and drive-through on the other.
