MCS' Fall Serenade taking place Sunday
SANDPOINT — Twice a year, Music Conservatory of Sandpoint’s accomplished instructors give a recital performance that rivals those showcased at the finest concert halls in the world.
It’s now time for the eighth annual Fall Serenade to be held on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Heartwood Center, 615 Oak St., Sandpoint.
The concert will feature works by great masters and proceeds will benefit MCS’ scholarship and tuition assistance programs. The evening begins with an appetizer reception that includes a no-host wine bar and silent auction for outrageous desserts donated by local restaurant and pastry chefs. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for MCS students.
“This particular event is great because it demonstrates the unique relationship between MCS, our instructors, and our students,” MCS board secretary, Natasha Ford said. “We really want our students to succeed, but we understand that developing a skill can take years with a lot of investment from families.
“We aim to keep music accessible for all, and this is one way te community can not only come and enjoy our talented musicians, but also join with us in support of music for Sandpoint’s budding young musicians.”
Ford said that the gourmet desserts are coming from all around town, including The Pie Hut, Spud’s, DiLuna’s, and Winter Ridge. There will also be a raffle to win a pie for a month from Panhandler Pies, or concert goers may bid on a healthier and timely Thanksgiving centerpiece.
