The perfect start to the Christmas season is Pend Oreille Arts Council’s presentation of Eugene Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Over thirty of our local school children have been rehearsing with the talented staff at Allegro Dance Studio to learn the choreography and are thrilled to have the opportunity to dance with a professional dance troupe. You won’t want to miss this magical performance.

The score was written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1892, but has retained its timelessness and beauty. The story about a young girl’s wooden nutcracker turning into a handsome prince and taking her on a holiday extravaganza remains as energy-filled and enchanting as it did over 100 years ago.

The one night performance will be held on Sunday, December 3 at the Panida at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The entire family will enjoy this fantasy trip to The Land of Sweets filled with breathtaking costumes, energetic dancing and an abundance of delightful surprises.

Tickets cost $30 for adults and $12 for children 18 years old and younger. They can be purchased at POAC Gallery and Office, 302 N. First Ave. Eichardt’s Pub, 212 Cedar Street; Eve’s Leaves, 326 N. First Ave.; Winter Ridge Natural Foods, 793 Lake Street and online at artinsandpoint.org. For more information call POAC’s office (208) 263-6139.
