SAGLE — A Washington state man was killed Sunday after a deer struck by another motorist was launched through the windshield of the minivan he was riding in.

Idaho State Police said David Bannister was driving southbound when he struck a deer with a 2012 Subaru Outback, sending it airborne and into the path of a southbound Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by Arliene Jungblom. State police said the deer went through the windshield and crashed into Charles Jungblom, a 70-year-old from Davenport.

Jungblom was mortally wounded when he was hit by the deer, state police said.

State police did not specify if Arliene Jungblom, also 70, or Bannister, a 68-year-old from Sagle, were injured in the incident. All parties involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, according to ISP.

The collisions happened just north of the Dufort Road intersection at approximately 4:59 p.m.

Spokane television station KHQ reported on Monday that Charles Jungblom was accused of forcing teen girls to appear in pornographic movies he filmed in the 1990s.

Jungblom, who was a counselor at Davenport High School at the time, served five years in prison as a result of the accusations and a jury awarded a former student who said Jungblom raped her a $3.5 million judgment in 1997, according to the KHQ report.
