David John Chorzempa

David John Chorzempa passed away on Oct. 17, 2017.

Private family services will be held later.

He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After he graduated from high school and joined the Marines to serve his country. He went to Vietnam in 1966 and was with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines. After serving 13 months there he went on to be sergeant of guard of President Johnson’s and President Nixon’s helicopter.

After his service he went on to college and received his bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Minnesota State University. David was active in Vietnam veterans groups. He followed his brother to Sandpoint in 1991 where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his brothers, Mark (and Annie), and John (and Jeannie); and by his sister, Mary (and Ron). He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
