A story has been circulating on the internet for quite some time. Captain Ed Freeman needs to be recognized as an American hero. The story includes a long list of his bravery during the Vietnam war. He risked his life many time to save others. The story moves to the lack of media coverage of his death in Boise on Wednesday. Clearly, the media would prefer to focus on thugs and celebrities, a bickering Congress and ignore Captain Freeman’s death on Wednesday.

However, this is simply not the case. His story made the national news when he died. He was honored for all he did in Vietnam. And yes he did die “on Wednesday.” It was Wednesday, August 20, 2008. This accurate information can be found on the internet. Unfortunately, many inaccuracies also make rounds on the internet.

I received the Captain Ed Freeman story several years ago and questioned the day of his death as simply Wednesday.

No journalist would ever report that someone died “on Wednesday” without including a date! It saddens me that the true story of this American hero has been sabotaged and twisted in a vain attempt to discredit the media. It saddens me, greatly, that this story is still being circulated on the internet. It saddens me even more that it was in our own daily paper on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
