Parkinson to perform 'Classical Christmas'

The Idaho Humanities Council, in partnership with the Memorial Community Center in Hope invite the community to join them Friday for the “Classical Christmas” concert with pianist Del Parkinson.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Community Center, located at the intersection of Highway 200 and Centennial Road in Hope. The event is free to the public. Please join them after the performance for Christmas cookies and beverages.

MCC is excited to be welcoming back pianist Del Parkinson who will be performing a Classical Christmas piano concert with detailed commentary and power point presentation. His down-to-earth narration gives the background of each piece in order to heighten the listening experience. Parkinson is professor of piano at Boise State University and holds a doctor of music degree from Indiana State University and a postgraduate diploma from the Julliard School. He has performed in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and throughout the United States.

The Idaho Humanities Council is an independent, nonprofit organization that serves as the state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
