John J. Patrick Maberry
John J. Patrick Maberry MD, DO, was born April 1, 1975, and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. He passed away Aug. 29, 2017.
After graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1993, John moved with his family to Reno, Nev., with his family.
Wanting to follow his dream to work in the medical field, he attended the University of Minnesota for his first year of college, and then continued his education at the University of Wisconsin that following year until finally coming home to the University of Nevada Reno to complete his bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Moving forward in his education, John was accepted to the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., where he completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Returning to Reno, John starting working for the local VA Hospital, until he shared a practice at St. Mary’s Hospital.
John had so many qualities for his short but adventuresome life. He touched so many people in his practice and everyone he ever encountered. A loving compassionate caring person one could ever meet, this was John.
John’s foremost love was his children. His fatherhood came naturally to him and his many marathons he ran over 100 along with skiing the local hills.
Sadly he leaves his three beautiful children, Kadin, 9, Ayumi, 7, and Greyson, 4. He also leaves his parents, Marvin and Rochelle; and only brother, Lucas, behind; along with two half-sisters, Linda of Arizona and Kathy of Illinois; his Aunt Sherin in Idaho, and numerous nephews and nieces around the country.
Proceeding in death are his grandparents and half-sister, Sheila.
We wish to thank all the wonderful people we meet through this tragedy, including the amazing people at St. Mary’s Hospital fr all they have done in this sad time.
John will always live in our hearts.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Mathew 11:28.
