Joan Elaine McNeil, 70

Joan Elaine McNeil, 70, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2017, in Spokane, Wash.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Heinsen officiating. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park following the service with lunch back at the church. Visitation hours will be from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Coffelt Funeral Service.

Joan was born on Feb. 15, 1947, to Lillian and Lester Duncan. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1965. She had some college. She married John McNeil on January 8, 1966. They built a home and raised three daughters in Sandpoint, Idaho, where they lived for over 50 years.

Joan worked as a certified nursing assistant and caregiver for many years but the job that was closest to her heart was a church organist.

Joan’s hobbies included sewing, crafts, shopping and gardening. She enjoyed road trips, cruises, traveling and going to the Sandpoint Senior Center. She loved her family, friends and members of the community. Her faith in God gave her great strength and she cherished the members of Christ Our Redeem-er Church.

Joan is survived by her three daughters, Ginette Teraceno, Jennifer (Rich) Eppler, and Julie (Jeff Paul) McNeil; her grandchildren, Richard (Laura) Bell, Annie (Chris) Chadwick, Hana (Casey) Hellman, Justin Carpenter, Skylar Kessler, and Alex Kessler; her great-grandchildren, Robert Bell, Larry Bell, Todd Bell, and Stephen Hellman; and her brother, Larry (Yvonne) Duncan; along with numerous family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John McNeil; her parents, Lester and Lillian Duncan; and her brother, Lonnie Duncan.
