Seems the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office is starting down a slippery slope.

First, in January of this year, deputies attempting to serve a warrant on a person known to have mental issues resulted in a shootout.

Second, in April of this year, a murder investigation with several early missteps resulted in a man falsely accused, arrested and targeted.

Now, another warrant service which results in a shootout and a death.

The slope? How a department is run and handles the various and myriad situations encountered daily speaks volumes to the leadership or lack thereof.
