CLARK FORK — Jadyn Delay finished with four kills, four digs and two aces, and was the lone senior honored before the game as Clark Fork swept Lakeside 25-11, 25-17, 25-15 on Senior Night Tuesday during North Star League volleyball at Clark Fork High School.

Brooke Stevens returned from a hamstring injury to post 32 assists and four kills, and Grace Shelton added eight kills and two aces for the Wampus Cats (12-7, 8-1 NSL), who needed a win after going 0-4 in Genesesee.

“The girls came out of the locker room wanting back in the win column and they never looked back,” praised head coach Cindy Derr. “Their attitudes were up and they got the job done.”

Hailey Bristol added six digs, Ellie Kiebert seven kills and seven aces, Ellie Lambert seven digs and Tessa Sutton four kills and two aces in a solid win. Aleehia Valliere and Abbie Anderson stepped in during the third set and did a nice job in the back row against the Knights (4-13, 2-8 NSL).

The Cats had a solid practice on Monday, and held a team meeting afterward.

“I reminded them that the loss against Kootenai and the Genesee tournament should not define who we are. I also reminded them how we started the season and a hurdle in the road should not allow them to give up,” said Derr. “They did a great job coming back and taking the win.”

Clark Fork is at Wallace on Thursday.
