Timothy Allen Shanks
A special kind of super hero that was called home before his time because “Heaven was needing a hero.”
Born March 5, 199, Timothy Allen Shanks passed away on Sept. 26, 2017.
Timothy Allen Shanks was a beloved son, grandson, brother, boyfriend and friend. He was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, and resided in Priest River, Idaho, most of his life. Growing up in Priest River, Idaho, he attended school and at some point in time attained his GED at the Coeur d’Alene community college. He always had different jobs because he considered no job too small.
Tim was 24 years old at the time of his passing. He was preceeded in death by his father, Shawn M. Shanks Reynolds. He is survived by his mother, Fransis M. Meckler; his stepfather, Gerry Elerding; his brothers, Justin M. Meckler, Gerry N. Fischer and Joshua Shanks; his sisters, Jea R. Fischer and Amber M. Elerding; his grandparents, Ralph and Trina Brooks, and Randy and Kathy Reynolds; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, and his BFFs: AJ Wellings and Layla Bews.
Tim enjoyed hunting, hiking, biking, woodwork, hanging out with his brothers, sisters and friends. Timothy was described by his mother as someone who “could light up the whole room when he entered.” He was somewhat of a class clown, and loved to make everyone laugh. Whether Tim knew you or not he would make you smile. Tim was very unselfish and would always take the time to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on for anyone who was in need. He was also known to be very charitable and had been known to give anyone the shirt straight off his back or his shoes off his feet and ask for nothing in return.
As many of you know he absolutely loved Spider Man along with many other super heros. You could often find him running around dressed in some costume or mask. He aspired of becoming a film director/producer someday. So, often you would find him with a video camera or phone in hand.
Timothy had many accomplishments in life, but the biggest accomplishment that he had was showing everyone that knew him what a better place this world could be with kindness and love….
And last but not forgotten as Tim would say “I got this!”
Rather than a memorial service there will be a celebration of life for Timothy on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Blanchard Community Senior Center in Blanchard, Idaho.
The family wants to thank everyone who called or messaged condolences and offered their support during this tragic time. A special thanks to those who set up GoFundMe accounts to help curb expenses. And a very special thank you to Lynn Mors for the making of Timothy’s memorial video.
