Selkirk Fire, Rescue and EMS firefighter Jonah Pucci has been out staking fire hydrants around the city to ensure they are visible when the snow flies. Selkirk officials are asking community members to adopt a fire hydrant in front of their house and keep them shoveled out for easy access in case of a fire. On average, it saves the firefighters 10 minutes and can mean the difference between saving or losing a home to fire.
