Oct. 29, 1967 – SENIOR HIGH NEWS
Miss Whitehead’s accelerated geometry class has been experimenting with a geo-board, a square board with an array of nails used as a physical set of points. The function of the board is in dealing with problems concerning parallel lines.
At the last Student Council meeting, Brian McComas, president of the senior class, said the school trophies needed to be dusted. Bob Klatt, student body president, stated that this would be a good job for ID board offenders.

BOOSTER CLUB OFFICERS NAMED
Election of officers for the SHS Boys Booster Club was held at the first official meeting. Elected were Bud Needham, president; Scott Wyatt, vice president; Randy Poelstra, secretary; and Ralph Sletager, sergeant at arms. A committee appointed to draft a constitution includes Scott Hadley and Dick Bradetich, seniors; Jack Parkins and Duane Abromeit, juniors; and Steve Klatt and Bruce Carter, sophomores.

TRIO BAGGED THREE ALBERTA MOOSE
Dr. J.P. Munson, Roy Thompson and Neal Cochran returned to Sandpoint Friday, following a week’s hunting north of Edmonton, Alberta. Three moose were bagged by the trio, but only two were brought out when fish and game department biologists determined there were abnormalities of certain internal organs in one of the animals.

Oct. 29, 1917 – HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
The football game between the high school and the town team ended in overwhelming defeat for the town team, 52-0 in favor of the high school.
The high school participated in the Liberty loan parade. The student body was led by the football team, followed by the different classes.

SAVE FAT SCRAPS
We are the greatest fat-wasters in the world. We waste fat in the kitchen and on the table, in hotels, restaurants, and homes. We need to save fat and pork products for our allies. We use fat in countless way to manufacture things needed to win the war. We cannot afford to go on wasting.
If every American saved one-third ounce of fat daily, it would amount to 395,000 tons a year – an important saving in the present emergency.

STREET RAILWAY SOLD
The Sandpoint Interurban system has been sold to a Seattle firm. The road has been in operation in the city since 1909 and was managed by Al Filson, making trips to the G.N. depot as well as to Ponderay and Kootenai. Recently the tracks were torn up along the Kootenai route as the road was not making expenses, but it still continued regular runs to the depot. It is the intention of Mr. Filson to continue a freight and passenger service to the depot with automobiles.
