Adam and Eve displaced? Cain displaced? They were not threatened. They committed serious wrongs and were banished.

Merely reading the biblical list of “displaced persons” provided by the Armstrongs, pastors from Boise invited by the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force last week to “train” us about refugee resettlement at Sandpoint Community Hall created an immediate distrust of their message.

People with even a small knowledge of the Bible felt as if the couple was misusing it and attempting to take advantage of the audience. The warning to beware of false prophets comes to mind.

Smiling when a questioner asked about the rape in Twin Falls only inflamed the dislike of the presenters. To avoid answering questions by pretending the handwriting was illegible insulted the intelligence and morality of the attendees. Serious questions about the motivations of the Armstrongs come to mind.

Growing evidence proves that a great many refugees were not thoroughly vetted, that the United Nations lied about having vetted them, and that too many were allowed in while infected with life-threatening diseases.

Additionally, the core value of the belief they bring can be summed up by words in Surah 9:5: “Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem…”, and by words of Mawlana Abul Ala Mawdudi: “The goal of Islam is to rule the entire world and submit all of mankind to the faith of Islam.”

Human rights is a two-way street.
