First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint is pleased to offer a retreat: “The Celtic Way of Life: Ancient Wisdom for Experiencing God Today” facilitated by Sr. Mary Lonergan, OSF.

The Celtic way implies a profound awareness of God’s presence in, as well as above, and beyond all of creation. It is truly passionate in the love of God, filled with the wonder and the wilderness of Mystery and awe of life and God’s goodness. It values creativity and imagination as dimensions of the Divine life within the human spirit.

Celtic Spirituality is earth-conscious. It is concern for communal care with an even engagement of head, heart, soul and body.

Sr. Mary Lonergan is a monastic from the Order of St Francis recently retired from the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Milwaukie, Oregon. She is an experienced teacher, lecturer, certified Spiritual Director, Retreat and Workshop Leader. She has lived and taught the world over including the African bush and Guatemalan rainforest. Her specialties include Franciscan, Celtic and Women’s Spirituality.

Join us in exploring the Celtic way of life and how it can inform our own living every day. There is a free presentation on Friday, September 15, from 6-8 pm. The day-long retreat will be Saturday, September 16, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Registration will be required for Saturday.
