Brett Bankson

| September 10, 2017 1:00 AM

Brett Bankson died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 1, at San Francisco General Hospital emergency room of an overwhelming systemic infection.

He was born on March 3, 1982, in Sandpoint, Idaho, and grew up in the family home on Upper Pack River Road. He attended public and Waldorf schools, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 2000. After attending ITT Tech he moved to the San Francisco Bay area. He worked as a landscaper for Bertotti Landscaping. He was an owner-operator for Lyft, the ride- sharing company, and most recently was a property expert at Pillow, a company that prepped and set up rentals for Air B&B. He also did freelance handy-man work for people who needed help.

Brett was funny with a good sense of humor, and was a kind and loving person, as remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Kate and Jeff Bankson of Sandpoint; two brothers and their wives, Josh and Tami Bankson, and Aaron and Deniya Bankson, all of Sandpoint; four nephews, four nieces, two great-nephews and one great-niece, all of whom loved Uncle Brett greatly. He will be sorely missed.

A group of his friends in the San Francisco area will be holding a celebration of Brett’s Life on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the park in Corte Madera, Calif., just across the Golden Gate Bridge from the city of San Francisco.

If you wish to contribute to his memory, because he was such a kind and loving person who was always ready to help out those he knew, please consider doing a random act of help and kindness in his name and honor.

A celebration of his life will be held at the family property at a future time after the family has had a chance to grieve.
