Downtown revitalization explored at chamber talk

SANDPOINT — Downtown revitalization will take center stage at Thursday’s Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting.

Area residents and business represenatives are invited to attend to the monthly general membership luncheon, on Thursday, Sept. 14. The luncheon will be held from noon-1 p.m., with registration starting at 11:45 a.m. at the community room of the Sandpoint Center (Columbia Bank building), 414 Church St., Sandpoint.

Public Works Director/City Engineer Ryan Luttman will be giving an update on the downtown revitalization project, including the first phase of a sewer project set to start on First Avenue next week, Farmin’s Landing design concepts, and the intersection at First Avenue and Bridge Street.

Luttmann will also provide an update on the roundabout at the intersection of Schweitzer Cutoff Road and N. Boyer Avenue and bridge projects as well as the wastewater treatment plant.

Luttmann, who joined the city of Sandpoint in February 2016, his degree in engineering from the University of Idaho in 1997 and has worked in both the private and public sectors throughout his career. Luttmann has worked on the planning, design and review of public infrastructure projects throughout the area.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage everyone in the community to attend the luncheon.

The cost is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-chamber members. The cost includes lunch catered by Tango Café.
