A few close encounters of the entertainment kind

| September 14, 2017 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Ah, there’s a nip in the morning air — and less smoke, too. All good signs for the coming change of season. We’ve got a wonderfully mixed bag of events for you this week, including the very cool, digitally remastered version of ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ starting tonight at the Panida and running through the weekend.

If you’re a Led Zep fan(atic), Friday is your night at the Panida, when Led Zeppelin Experience takes the stage for some serious rock n’ roll.

On Saturday, Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeepers and the city of Sandpoint invite you to head down to City Beach and help out with the Sand Creek Cleanup and, on Saturday evening, clean comedian Brad Upton is featured in a fundraiser at Columbia Bank Atrium to benefit the American Heritage Wildlife Foundation. Also happening Saturday night, an original music showcase with all local talent going on at MickDuff’s Beer Hall.

On top of it all, we take a sneak peek forward into next weekend for some of the great events going on then, such as the Angels Over Sandpoint 20th Anniversary Dance and Ponderay Neighbor Day in Ponderay.

What? More, you say? As you wish:
