POST FALLS — The Bulldogs had trouble finding a rhythm offensively, getting swept 25-16, 25-17, 25-13 by Post Falls, and 25-23, 25-15, 25-16 by Mt. Spokane in a nonleague volleyball tri-match on Thursday night at Post Falls High School.

Against Post Falls, Grace Hicks tallied nine assists, eight digs, two blocks and two aces, Jenny Slaveck seven kills, Shelby Kluver six kills and 11 digs and Kaitlan Ward 14 digs in defeat for the Bulldogs (7-9).

Against Mt. Spokane, Slaveck again led the team with seven kills to go with 14 digs, Hicks added four kills, 11 digs and two aces, Kluver six kills and eight digs, Lilly Anderson 12 digs and Marina Breuner 14 set assists as the first set was tight before the Bulldogs were forced to play from behind for most of the night.

“Jenny had a great match against Mt. Spokane. Kaitlan Ward stepped up for some setting duties, Alexis Davis contributed upbeat energy and smart play and Helen Merwin passed well,” said Bulldog coach Erin Roos.

The road remains tough for the Bulldogs, who face another four consecutive 5A opponents before the important second league matches to end the regular season.
