SANDPOINT — A pair of first half goals from Taran Tvrdy and David Webster, coupled with another stellar defensive effort, led to a 2-0 shutout win for the Bulldogs over the 5A Timberwolves on Tuesday in nonleague boys soccer at Pine St. Field.

Tanner Kohal, Tvrdy and Max Edmundson continue to form a brick wall in the defensive backfield for the Bulldogs (10-0-1), who continue to roll through the schedule unscathed. Julian Reichold and Hyrum Hunsaker combined for the Bulldogs’ seventh shutout of the season between the pipes, earning the respect of their head coach.

“That’s one of the best goalkeeping tandems Sandpoint has had,” said Bulldogs head coach Evan McNeley. “We don’t give up a lot of goals.”

Aidan Hassel was busy in goal for Lake City (4-2-1), using an aggressive approach to shut down several runs. The Bulldogs have run up a solid record against a slate full of 5A opponents, which bodes well moving forward.

“The team is fully committed to play for each other,” said McNeley. “They’re resilient on defense. Taran is impressive around the goal.”
