Education symposium tackles health issues

Interested in learning more about your health? How about diabetes and opioid abuse? What about long-term care?

A variety of health-related topics will be addressed at a special Healthcare Educational Symposium today at the Columbia Bank building’s second floor auditorium, located at 414 Church St.

The event is free to everyone and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

The symposium runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Presenters at the education event include:

- 9 a.m. —Dr. Burgstahler LCCA of Sandpoint

- 10 a.m. — Denise Stewart – Estate & Long Term Care Law Group

- 11 a.m. — Bryan Hult County Veterans Service Officer

- 12 p.m. — Rosemary Divttore R.N, DNS; Auburn Crest Hospice

- 1 p.m. — Bonner General Health – Diabetes

- 2 p.m. — Pharmaceuticals/Opioid Abuse

Visit with the professionals at their booths and get great information — and don’t forget to sign up for our fantastic fall basket.

Among the groups and companies taking part in the event are AFS Home Health, Aging Better In Home Care, Alzheimer’s Association, Auburn Crest Hospice, Bonner General Health, Sandpoint Senior & DayBreak Centers, Denise Stewart ELTC, Hearthstone Assisted Living, Luther Park Assisted Living/Memory Care, Sandpoint Community Resource Center, The Bridge Assisted Living, The Restorium Assisted Living, and Tidy Top.

In addition to great speakers, there will be a number of booths to visit and the Sandpoint Senior and DayBreak centers will have an informational table in the hallway along with the Alzheimer’s Association and all the local elder care centers.
