Individual involved in shooting identified

COOLIN — A person was fatally wounded Tuesday in an armed confrontation with Bonner County sheriff’s deputies has been identified as Craig A. Johnson, 50, of Bonner County, according to Idaho State Police.
State police said deputies were attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant on Johnson at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday. ISP said Johnson was armedand exhibited hostile behavior to the deputies, which prompted them to open fire.
Johnson was injured and medical attention was rendered. A ground ambulance was attempting to rendezvous with an air ambulance, but he died en route, state police said.
The shooting is being investigated by the North Idaho Critical Incident Task Force, with Idaho State Police serving as the lead agency.
