I am a Northern Lights utility customer and receive the Ruralite magazine. In the September issue, there is an article titled “A Patriotic Pilgrimage.”

Rural high school students from many states are given the privilege to travel to Washington, D.C., to see the memorials honoring our military and our country’s history. These students’ portrayal of their experience is remarkable. They totally understand the sacrifices made for our freedoms, and they felt an extreme debt of gratitude.

The students honor our country and our flag, and have much bigger hearts than the shameful NFL. I’ll stand side by side with these students anytime. The NFL players who disrespect our flag could learn a lot from them.
