SANDPOINT — A torrent of goals in the second half helped the Bulldogs celebrate Senior Night with fun and flair, as Sandpoint erased a 1-0 deficit to win 6-2 over Lakeland in 4A Inland Empire League boys soccer Thursday night at War Memorial Field.

Tommy Krivancek gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead, which held up heading into halftime.

Dylan Baillie gave the Bulldogs (11-0-1, 3-0 4A IEL) the equalizer, the first of six goals in the final 25 minutes of the game as the Bulldogs continue to roll through their schedule unscathed.

A strong senior class of Hyrum Hunsaker, Jacob Matt, Tanner Kohal, Zion Reichold, Noah Hastings, Christian Dressel, Max Edmundon, Terron Tvrdy, Luke Koch, Mac Stultz, David Webster, Parker Mayo and Gage Sigman were honored on Senior Night, and the team wore a purple band and dedicated the game to the memory of former teammate Kris Hertel.

Head coach Evan McNeley knows the strong senior class is driving the undefeated season.

“When I think about them, they’re passionate individuals. They’re coming together, which is exciting to see,” said McNeley, who loved how his team responded after a slow first half. “We had our first test, how we’re going to be when our backs are against the wall. We proved we’re resilient when we needed it.”

Stultz scored twice, giving him a team-high nine goals on the season, while Tyler Moore, Hastings and David Webster also found the back of the net.

Sandpoint is at Post Falls on Tuesday in a battle between two of the hottest teams in the state.
